U.S Congressman Steve Chabot Arrives in Kathmandu

U.S. Congressman Steve Chabot arrived here in Kathmandu on Thursday for a two-day official visit.

During his visit, Cahbot is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and other senior government officials, political party leaders, media representatives, and civil society leaders, to address a range of issues, including the peace process.

Mr. Chabot would hold a press conference Friday evening at 6:30 at the Dwarika’s Hotel, accroding to a press statement issued by the US embassy. Congressman Steve Chabot has represented Ohio’s First Congressional District in the U.S. Congress for fifteen years and currently serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

In 2011, he was named Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee at the Middle East and South Asia.
